So lets hit the road, shall we?
ALRIGHT!!!! Lets go skiing then - Week 12 in Year 2000.

Sälen
is located in the county of Dalarna in Sweden and have a lot of hills for skiing
in the winter but also for hiking in the summer, and it's quite beautifully here.
In the rest of the world Sälen are mostly famous for that the start of the 85,55 km cross-country ski-race
"Vasaloppet" takes place here.
Many Swedes comes here every year, for vacation in a very beautifully environment.
After You have visited Sälen for the first time You'll know You will definitely come back.

On the top of the hill at Lindvallen there is this huge Snowman built and also a log cabin,
and naturally it is called "The Top Cabin". This is where You can eat the most fantastic Goulash Soup and have a beer or two between the activities. We went there of course every day during this weekend.

For this trip we had some sweatshirt made up for all of us with our slogan "Alltid Sälen v. 12" (Swedish for Always Sälen week 12) and we all wore them during our days of skiing.

Every afternoon we went to the After Ski party and watched Rydell and Quick play, and these guys are definitely one of the best Rock Bands Sweden has to offer. Oh boy what a party that was! The whole house was moving from stomping feet with ski boots on, and You really had to watch out for Your toes.

Being 18 girls in 3 apartments made us have a few male visitors now and then.
Suddenly it could just knock on our doors and there would be a nice guy on the outside. This happened quite frequently and by this we met all kinds of guys that were very nice. This particularly guy, a neighbor, came in and visited us when we were getting ready for dinner and he was dressed up like something we never seen before and was hilariously funny. Some of these guys who came visiting us at our doorsteps also later showed up at our parties, yes of course we partied a lot this weekend, and we all had a great deal of fun together. |

At our parties we danced a lot and Lena, one of us, were very talented at dancing Salsa and she tried really hard to teach the rest of us how to do that. I can't say we were that successful but we had fun trying.
One of the guys, Per, that came over to our party one night was really good at it too and he danced with almost everybody and it was very amusing to the rest of us who was watching. The story about how we got to know Per and his brother Janne was quite funny and I will get back to You about that. |

Ok, back to the story how we met Janne and Per.
It was Friday, shortly after the After Ski party with Rydell and Quick and Bettan, Helle, Madde, Lena and myself were sitting with a couple of drinks in our apartment, talking, when there was a knock on the door. We shouted Come In and Per came in through the door, dancing with his hands in the air singing Here I am. We didn't have a clue who he was and when he finally looked at us he realized he was in the wrong apartment and was very embarrassed about that. He was supposed to go to the apartment next door to visit Camilla, a former work companion. We laughed like crazy at him, since he was still dancing with his fists in the air, very red in his face and very embarrassed he was at the wrong place. Well, we talked with him for a while and then we sent him to the proper apartment, so we thought. We actually had two "Camilla" in our group, so we did send him to the wrong apartment again. 20 minutes later there was a knock on the door again. Again we shouted Come In and in through the door came Janne, Per's brother. He was making the same mistake and again we laughed like crazy, even though he wasn't dancing his way through the door.
Janne did stay with us though and we sat there for a long time, talking, before it was time to get ready for dinner next door. |
